Charlie Parker: Shined Out Of The Blue..!!

Charles Parker is one of most prominent figures in jazz music. He was popular among all as “Charlie” and he was born at 1920 on 29t August. Surprisingly, he had no talent of music as a child, though he belonged to a musician’s family. His father was a volcano of talent and was a famous pianist, a good dancer and a blessed singer. Coming from such a family, it was really a pressure for Parker to come out bright in this field. But his “not so much” of love towards music was a matter of shock for not only his father, but for others as well.

But things were not same always. As we know, when and how things can change in our lives, no one can predict that. The same thing happened with parker as well. He got the inspiration from a young lad who was playing trombone and Parker was spellbound with his music. Instantly he decided to jump into music without any delay. He was also blessed with all the resources thanks to his dad! Subsequently, he also learned some of the raw techniques from that trombone playing boy as well, who trained him in the basic techniques of improvisation. This young lad had a great influence in Parker’s life, as well as in his music too.

Parker began playing the saxophone and soon joined his school band. His career soon took speed and he became popular among the music lovers. He earned recognition as a jazz saxophonist and a composer. He was instrumental in the development of bebop, which is a jazz form qualified by a fast tempo, virtuoso technique and improvisation. His songs have set standards. He is also an iconic figure of the hipster subculture. His death in 1955 meant the loss of one of the most influential people in the field of jazz music.
